The Christmas spirit settled in my heart yesterday afternoon when I least expected it and I’m glad. All at once, the music, weather, thoughts and prayers of everyone for us, along with a good many Christmas email messages and blog comments, came together to lift my spirits for this unique and different holiday season.
The things I am thankful for this year are very simple and straightforward, having nothing at all to do with anything money can buy or family can purchase as gifts. In fact, there is only one gift lying out on our bookcase by the fireplace without even a tree above it. But the true gifts are from our Father above and in our hearts. And those are the best presents ever.
So, here we are as we look forward to family and old friends gathering with us tonight for a quiet time together on Christmas Eve and tomorrow as we rest and remember how blessed we are to have our home, our family, our friends, each other, and most of all, God’s love in our hearts, that He has so magnificently shown us.
May God richly bless you and keep you close to Him
throughout this holiday season with family and friends.

Merry Christmas to you all.
Thank you for the message!
Merry Christmas!
Grace, Peace, and Love,
David
Merry Christmas! and lots and lots of love!
Dee,
What a lovely couple you and Tom make!
Sorry I did not get to vote on the Christmas theme, but I would have chosen the blue theme.
Hope your day was restful and full of peace.

Dee, since Corry is from the Netherlands we get to have two Christmas days. Merry Christmas to you and yours from both of us!
Merry Christmas!
Happy for you. Thanks for your message.
I hope to “see” you a lot in the coming year. Maybe this time next year things will be a lot more normal (in the good sense) for you and yours.
I hope your Christmas went well despite everything you’ve been through. I’ve watched you, through your blog, deal with some really heavy things these past months. I’ve prayed and will continue to pray. The thing that has impressed me the most (and shamed me at the same time for my whining about so many little things) is your ability to regain your perspective–that you are God’s and if God’s, then there is a purpose even if we can’t fully understand and we have to suffer in the meantime. Thanks so much for the demonstration of your faithfulness through God’s faithfulness.
