I said just last week (was it? or week before?) that my “usual” posting days here are Tuesdays and Fridays, which rule I immediately broke the next Monday. Today’s not posting day either, so here’s the skinny.
Everyone (including many of my usual commenters) seems to be extra busy with post-holidays catching up/first of the year projects, so I have:
(1) Not received, as yet, enough pictures for my ongoing “Winter Desktop” Pictures Contest.
(2) Not received enough correct answers to my post last Friday – the “Finding Direction” Trivia Questions test.
I want to give all of you (commenters and shy ones alike) one more chance here to redeem yourselves by contributing to one or both items above before I announce the winners and move on to higher planes sharing some of my hard-earned, well fought for, wisdom about life, love and the pursuit of godliness – among other things. (I mean, I’ve collected scars as if they were medals. Like a Five Star General – I’m covered with them.)
You know how ecclectic I can be here. Especially in these difficult months in Katrina Zone. S0 there’s lots of unexpected fun and anguish both to come, I’m sure. In fact, I never did share the funny side of our Thanksgiving week that was so traumatic, which I said I would, so I’m working on “Chef Andrews’ Sad Turkey Tale,” which you will not want to miss!
Meanwhile, get those pictures in to me (email me your jpegs) and take the test. It won’t take that long and everyone else is waiting to hear from you. A lot of the questions have already been answered correctly, but for those of you who don’t have a clue, I’m going to post all the correct answers with links back to where you can find them in “Finding Direction,” if you are so inclined. It’s worth the visit back for those of you who missed some of the more interesting and humorous posts, such as the one about Captain John W. Gulf and how Tom and I met each other.
One last thing – one of the trivia questions last Friday was about something that was going to happen in about seven days. Well – the countdown has started. Here’s the deal. All of you who drop by, take a scroll down to the very bottom of this page where the site meter is and take a look at it. Some lucky person today or tomorrow is going to be my 10,000th visiter!! Isn’t that exciting? And, of course, being me, I have all sorts of rewards in mind for that lucky person.
So drop by and keep checking out the site meter below to see who the big 10,000th visiter and winner of great prizes will be. (You know – like winning the lottery or something, only better – ha!)
I’m in better spirits today than on Tuesday and today seems to be going well, so I’ll close with this passage:
“ . . . we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” Romans 5:11

Now I feel guilty. I’m semi-new here so I was lost on the trivia. I have no background on my desktop so I couldn’t offer a winter scene. Maybe I can redeem myself by being #10k!
Yep, I am 9968! Sorry I haven’t had time to respond to the trivia (but I did get you my picture). I am feverishly trying to get baby-shower invitations out as I type. Life is a little hectic right now.
Hope you continue to feel better!
I’ve got to be careful here, because I don’t want to screw up the countdown to 10,000 by having them all be my own, you know?! But, I had to comment just a bit.
Kc – You don’t need to feel “guilty” about anything, friend. As far as all the trivia questions – I’ve got all the answers to them ready to give everyone so they can “catch up” a bit with “Finding Direction” if they’d like. It would be a fun look back, here at nearly the end of my first year blogging.
As for the “winter scene” pictures – they don’t even have to be your own if you want to find something interesting to submit. You’ve still got time.
And, Donna – it’s not like you don’t have anything else to do, we all know, with your daughter expecting triplets soon. Has she picked out names for them yet? We ought to get a vote, don’t you think? ha!
okay I saw this post and loved the picture.
We’re having a run toward the countdown to 10,000 here this afternoon, friends. We’re up to 9,981, so only 19 more to go! (Well, with me adding my comment here, again, make that ONLY 18 more to go!)
And, there’s a run on to get those pictures in for the “Winter Desktop” picture contest before it’s too late. I’ve gotten three new pictures in just the last little while this afternoon, including yours, Kc, which I really like.
Now if I can just get that sluggard, Danny Sims, to get his in like he’s been promising for two weeks, I’ll have gotten somewhere. DANNY! Hint, hint!
Hi Dee! I think I’m 9,983 (and perhaps 9,982, because I clicked back to see the total!). Anyway, I’m always happy to see a post from you regardless of the day.
But usually by this time of the day, my brain is too wiped out to offer any answers to trivia questions.
Thanks,
Bobby
Hey Dee… My knee surgery this week, considering all your challenges it’s truly no big deal! Hope you are felling well today. Shoot me an e-mail with directions on Grace Notes. I’ll rememebr to send you a picture or three as well.
ohhhh I’m 9994… now I’m 9995… this is like a slot machine.
I will wait and see who is 10000…. better come quick because I am going to check back before going home.
I want to send you a big picture of my face to put on your computer!
Just kidding. My photos are all of buildings and such… nothing quite comforting. I’ll look around.
