Dee,
Thanks for your post. I was able to read the first story but was unable to pull up the second. Fortunately, I have seen the Hoyt story and have been moved each time I have seen it. The third story made me sad. I responded to the story with a comment. I am sad we are a people who prize possessions over lives. It is a sad commentary on our society of today. Yet, not surprising.
I don't understand how the local, state and federal government, all failed in Katrina, but I hold people responsible for their own lives and taking warnings to leave when a major hurricane is coming your way! I appreciate people, such as Morice that take the time and effort to make our society a better place, even to the risks of his own life and comfort. We need more like him and the others in the other stories.
Take care of yourself and again thanks for the post.

Hey Dee -- Great posts. The death of Steve Erwin has really made me so sad... I think what I loved about him was his absolute lack of cynicism.

Thanks for the link,

For some reason I can't watch the video and didn't find any link to download the required player. But the article on Irwin's death was excellent. I'd seen the Hoyt story a few years ago ... very touching.
