To date the Judges for the 2nd Annual FDWDPC (see here for contest "rules" and deadlines) have received more bribe offers than photos, but so far have resisted any attempts along that line.  What IS this world coming to?!  On top of that, the biggest offenders are ministers who are not even televangelists.

The Judges are aware the contest is quite the prestigious event and that prizes are highly coveted.  However, the high standards of the Judges do not succumb to just any bribes and so far while they've been tempting, the Judges have passed.

Among the offers have been the hint that a free tattoo might be in the making  (no pun intended) from Sacred Ink, the new Christian tattoo parlor in Rochester, Michigan.  (This is for real, people, I'm not making this up.)  While the FD Judges are aware that is the latest fad (supposedly 30% of all young people between the ages of 18 and 25 have them) and they decorate just about every other professional football player, the Judges are disinclined to take the contestant up on the offer.  Body piercings and tattoos are a bit much for officers of the court and sage influential bloggers.   Plus, the FD Judges are just slightly older than the "Generation Next" 18 to 25 age group.

So, while the offer is tempting on some levels (as in maybe getting a tattoo would lead to more open dialogue with that group) the Judges must refrain.  Besides the Judge's spouse might well faint or have a heart attack at the sight, so it could be dangerous healthwise.

The other promising, but declined, offer was to be given a lifetime supply of free sermon tapes that could be used in the place of sleeping pills as the perfect sleep aid.  In addition, it was pointed out that the FD Judges could then set up a sermon pyramid plan in which underlings could buy the tapes at a hefty markup (especially if they're free) to pawn off on other people at an even heftier price (with the FD Judges getting the lion's share of the money, of course) in the perfect sermon pyramid scheme.

It wouldn't be called a pyramid scheme, of course, but would be set up that way so as to be most highly profitable for the FD Judges.  While, again, the offer is tempting, the FD Judges must decline due to the fact that they want everyone to stay awake to read Finding Direction every day and enter the 2nd Annual FDWDPC not sleep during the reading or contest either one.

So, here on day 5 of the contest, all is well.  A number of photos have been entered already, but the deadline isn't for another couple of weeks from Friday, so y'all get busy shooting and/or selecting your prints to email the Judges.  Excitement is building but time is short, so don't delay in getting your entry(ies) in.

In the meantime, look at the house pictures below and have a good day!

Cheers & Blessings to everyone today!  Dee

Frankly, I am shocked and stunned that you’re not only being bribed, but bribed by preachers!!! What is the world coming to? Is nothing sacred?
