Finding Direction: The Wind Vane Chronicles

Okay, people - several of you have said you were submitting photos for the prestigious (of course) 2nd Annual Finding Direction Winter Desktop Photo Contest (read the rules here), but the Judges haven't seen them yet.  And this is the last week for entries.  They need to be in by this weekend.  

I said the deadline was this Friday, Feb. 2 (how has it gotten so close to February already, hunh?  And January even has 31 days!), but will allow a grace period of next Saturday and Sunday for you stragglers to get your entries in if you can "show good cause" (I love throwing out those legal terms) and I'm in a good enough mood (and I seem to be so far this week, but then it's only Monday, so what do I know about how my mood will be next weekend) to accept them. 

But this coming weekend is the absolute deadline, so if you haven't already, be going through all of your winter (that according to months, not content of the picture) "water" (ice, snow, sleet, rain, lakes, oceans, bathtubs, whatever winter water you can find handy) or get out your cameras to shoot some new good ones to send in.

A good many have been received already and the competition is going to be stiff, so give it your best shot.  And remember there is a first place prized to be awarded, too!  The lucky winner receives six month of free blog web hosting from the illustrious, fantastic TheoBloggers, who provide the needed skills to yours truly here at Finding Direction.  

And those of you who have been reading FD for any length of time know what an improvement this blog site is compared to the old dull and boring (and always on the fritz) Blogger site found here, if you'd care to look back there to compare the magnificent improvement here with the immense help of the TheoBloggers.  I mean, six free months with these guys and you'll be hooked forever.  And the good part about it is that it only costs me (their usual fee) of $3 a month to keep this beautiful place up and running in good order.  So, if you decided to stay with them after your free six months, you have certifiable help for $3 bucks a month to own your own intellectual property in whatever you write and post, unlike with Blogger, where all of your material is really Blogger's!  (In case you didn't know that.)
