Finding Direction: The Wind Vane Chronicles

Interview with Chipper, Greg England’s Psycho-Pup

February 13th, 2007 · 8 Comments · Uncategorized

The Finding Direction staff, including the publisher, editor, photographer, accountant, attorney, reporters and various and assorted other staff members, known collectively as moi, have either stooped to a new low with the presentation of this fellow "blogger" interview or reached a new high.  Actually, Chipper the Psycho-Dog is quite famous, or infamous, as the case may be, as the "cash cow of blogging" pet and subject over at Greg England’s blog, The Rev’s Ramblings

Chipper draws so much attention (and fire) for being the cute dog that she is and the joy of Greg’s heart, I deemed it only appropriate that the sweet Chipper (wasn’t she cute as a puppy?!) should have the opportunity to speak for herself.  Thus the one of it’s kind and hard to come by Chipper Interview follows below.  It took all of my journalistic skills and interpretive abilities to pull this off, but I was able to do so and hope you enjoy Chipper’s thoughts!  Enjoy!

Part 1 – Basic Interview Questions

1.  What’s your favorite scripture?

Luke 16:21 where the dogs lick the sores of that beggar guy. Sickening for you, delicious to me!

 2.  Vital Statistics:

Born somewhere near Corona, CA approximately in May, 2004.

3.  Names of Spouse & Children and their birthdays:

Alas, I am a "single" pup without a family except by adoption.

4.  What brought you to the location you are now?

A blue Impala containing really strange bi-pedal beings (people).

5.  Where all have you lived in your life and when?

Corona and Long Beach, California

6.  What kind of work do you do?

Steal and destroy things from the garage. Jump on people. Scare the bejeebers out of people by suddenly appearing over the wall in the back yard. Eat expensive eyewear. Generally make a nuisance of myself, but in a lovable way.

7.  What do you love most about your work?

After I steal something from the garage, I make sure I am discovered and then keeping just out of reach from those bi-pedal beings with the strange bark.

8.  What do you like least about your work?

The down time when I am not the center of life as I know it. Oh yes, baths! I HATE having to take a bath.

9.  Who has been the most influential person in your life?

The older looking bi-ped who spends the most time with me. I’ve just about got him trained to behave the way I want him to behave. The other bi-ped, the female one, is much more difficult to fool.

10.  Any hidden talents:

I have a memory that is amazing. When told not to bother something in the garage, I can leave it alone for weeks, even months, and then when it seems I have no interest in that object, I can steal it in a canine heartbeat! Really frustrates my owner.

11.  Little known fact about me:

I really am just another dog and not the center of the universe.

Part 2 – Favorite Things:

 1.  Favorite Book:

Human Training for Dummies

2.  Favorite Movie:

All Dogs Go to Heaven

3.  Favorite food:

Whatever the closest human is eating.

4.  Favorite Kind of Music:

Dinner time whistle

5.  Favorite musical group or performers:

Snoopy Dog-Dog

6.  Favorite Song:

That Christmas song with dogs barking

7.  Favorite Junk Food:

Alpo

8.  Favorite childhood memory:

Being quickly drawn up from the bottom of the pool when I fell in the first day with those humans. For a moment I thought I was dead!

 Part 3 – Thought Questions:

1.  What is the best meal you have ever eaten?

Your food!

2.  Where would you most like to visit that you have never been before?

The other side of the street where all those gorgeous male dogs walk.

3.  What is your proudest moment?

Dragging my master across his front yard.

4.  What do you most regret?

Flunking out of dog obedience school. It was such an embarassment to the guy who went through class on the other end of my leash.

5.  If money, health, etc, were no concern, what would you do with your time?

Steal and destroy things.

Comment and let Chipper know how much you appreciate her being so "up front" as it were with everyone by sharing her life story!

And have a great day, y’all!

Cheers & Blessings to all of you today!  Dee

This may, indeed, be a new low in blogging. What boggles my mind is just how Chipper got all this information to you without my knowledge? She is a fascinating animal, though. Never ceases to amuse and amaze me. But then I’m a rather simple bi-ped.

  • Keith Davis

Speaking from experience, Chipper is an awesome dog. She is big enough though that I think will continue to get whatever she wants. This is a great post!!

  • Donna

I think I have met this dog!

  • Patrick Mead

“Snoopy Dog-Dog”? Groan…… Scooby the Wonder Parrot is NOT impressed.

  • Dee Andrews

    Patrick -

Tell you what – set me up with an interview with Scooby the Wonder Parrot and I’ll give him equal time! I’m sure Scooby could tell us all about the “real” Patrick Mead, right?!

    Cheers! Dee

Patrick: Years ago in an elder’s meeting one of our elders was referring to Snoop Doggy Dog (is that correct? the rapper) and his recent arrest here in Long Beach and he got the name wrong. He called the rapper Snoopy Dog Dog, so ever since that meeting I can’t think of any other name for that rapper than Bud’s slip of the tongue … not that I think of that rapper very often.

An interview with Cujo, I mean Chipper. Now my daily circle of life is complete. BTW – I have a cat (no hissing from you dog lovers of which “I are one”) who thinks he is a dog. If you want a really sophisticated (not that I don’t love Cujo, I mean Chipper)interview with an animal that is not afraid to pontificate on the nuances of pet / quasi owner relationship, my “Buddy” stands ready to be the cat’s meow.

I do look forward to seeing Cujo, I mean Chipper again when we come out for Pepperdine. I’ll be the one wearing sunglasses from (not that there is anything wrong with them) Wal-Mart.

Dee – you are so talented and multi-lingual too!! — I suppose you’ll be displacing Dr. Doolittle in your new career of reporting on conversations with animals :) :)
    God Bless
    Charlie
