I woke up about 3 a.m. this morning from the most wonderful dream.  In my dream I was singing the old song "Victory in Jesus."  I cannot remember the context of the dream, but the song I was singing remained quite clearly in my mind.

I thought - what a wonderful way to start my birthday today, which is also our wedding anniversary.  Tom and I were married 16 years ago today on my 46th birthday and it was the happiest day of my life until then.

Every day since has been every better and I am today happier than I've ever been in my life.  I am an extremely blessed Christian.  I have a husband who has shown me agape love more than any other person in this world, I have have three wonderful children who are all spiritually deep Christians.  I have a mom who is my right hand in all I do and my greatest friend and supporter and I have a wonderful loving family as a whole.

And then there are all of you wonderful readers and commenters and dear Christian friends who come share in my thoughts and in our daily lives and who so richly bless Tom and me with your participation in our joys and sorrows.  So many of you who I cherish in my heart and pray for daily (remember last Friday's post, "Try This Always Answered Revolutinary Prayer" that I pray every day, even at 3:30 a.m. this morning when I could not go back to sleep).

Sure there are all of the physical problems that cause me to have to keep my life in constant precarious balance.  There are always problems to worry about and to work on, but I feel as if I do already have victory in Jesus.  I have claimed that for my own - my legacy.

I have come to realize in the past few weeks that I already have eternal life that has begun on this earth.  I am saved and after my body and soul sleep in the grave for a short while, I will be raised, along with all of the saints who have gone to sleep already, to be a resurrected immortal body and spirit.  An immortal soul given life by our Father through Jesus Christ my redeeming savior.  What a sweet victory it is!

So, I leave you with a scripture and this song that is still in my head and in my heart for today.  It was written in 1939, several years before I was born, by E. M. Bartlett.

1 Corinthians 15:57
"But thanks be to God, which giveth us
the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

 Victory in Jesus

I heard an old, old story,
How a Savior came from glory,
How He gave His life on Calvary
To save a wretch like me;
I heard about His groaning,
Of His precious blood's atoning,
Then I repented of my sins;
And won the victory.

Chorus:
O victory in Jesus,
My Savior, forever.
He sought me and bought me
With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him,
And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory,
Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about His healing,
Of His cleansing power revealing.
How He made the lame to walk again
And caused the blind to see;
And then I cried, "Dear Jesus,
Come and heal my broken spirit,"
And somehow Jesus came and brought
To me the victory.
Chorus:

I heard about a mansion
He has built for me in glory.
And I heard about the streets of gold
Beyond the crystal sea;
About the angels singing,
And the old redemption story,
And some sweet day I'll sing up there
The song of victory.
Chorus:

~~~~~~~~~~
Join me in celebrating this happy birthday/anniversary day with you and our victory in Jesus.  What blessed thoughts the Lord has given me for the day.
Cheers & Blessings to you all! Dee
    Dee,
    Happy birthday! I feel so blessed to “know” you through blogging and our emails. You have inspired me with your focus on God and what He is doing in your life, giving Him the glory and enjoying each day as it comes. Praying that God gives you many more years to glorify Him on Earth!
    That song holds a special place in my heart as well. Growing up in a Baptist Church it was no doubt the favorite song of our Pastor. He was a Godly, passionate, Guadelcanal Vet who loved God and loved us with an intensity that touched my soul. When he wanted to get fired up and us with him, he would ask our worship leader to lead “Victory in Jesus.” Thanks for reminding me of a good time in my life and happy “birth-a-versary.”
    I wish I had thought —I went to Lubbock today–I could have stopped in Abernathy to sing—(trust me it wouldn’t have been much of a b’day present) I hope this day is the beginning or continuation of the pouring out of God’s pleasures and blessings on both of you.
    Have a happy day and a happy life, my friend
    Peace
    Neva
    Happy Birthday and happy anniversary! I’m late tonight getting to the blogs. I had a long day doing my once a week school tech work today.
    God’s peaceful blessings to you on this special occasion.
