Interview With Brad Palmore
March 20th, 2007 at 8:14 am by Dee O'Neil Andrews
[Okay guys - listen up!
My daughter-in-law, Lynn, is in the hospital going into labor as we speak, so hopefully I will be a grandmother once again before the day is over. I'll break in with the news as I find it out. Meanwhile, enjoy Brad's interview and comment to encourage him and to tell him what you may have in common, y'all hear?! Dee]
Brad Palmore, of the creatively named Brad Palmore's Blog, is one of the TheoBloggers who hosts Finding Direction for me for a really inexpensive cost while providing excellent service. In other words, Brad is my right hand man whenever I have computer glitches with Finding Direction which drive me crazy, which isn't often, but when it happens I holler "Help" to Brad and he fixes me right up!
Full time Brad is a minister in Arlington, Virginia and . . . well - read his interview to find out more!
Cheers! Dee

Part 3 - Thought Questions
1. What is the best meal you have ever eaten?
Churrascaria in Brazil! What can be better than all you can eat meat cooked and served on swords? With guarana to wash it down...incredible. (I'd avoid the chicken hearts, though.)
2. Where would you most like to visit that you have never been to before?
France. I studied French for four years and have been dying to use it ever since.
3. What is your proudest moment?
Finishing my bachelor's degree in three years with a 3.95 GPA while working full time and taking care of my family. I'm still tired.
4. What do you most regret?
Not learning more from my dad before he died.
5. If money, health, etc. were no concern, what would you do with your time?
Organizational and leadership development with small and/or struggling churches that couldn't afford the help otherwise.
6. What is your favorite book in the Bible and why?
Ephesians - I love the way the intertwined relationships between the Jews and Gentiles reveal the ebb and flow of community within the Body of Christ.
In spite of all this information, I shall always remember you high on a ladder, which is standing on a table that is straddling the pews at church. Music is playing over the sound system. That ladder and you could go any second. You are reaching as far out as possible to aim a light and suddenly telling me, “Greg, would you stop playing drums on the ladder!” I had no idea I was drumming along with the song, but it was most unnerving to you! I’m still amazed that “house of cards” didn’t come tumbling down with you on the top of the pile.
Good times, Greg, good times. It wouldn’t have been as unnerving had the ladder not be 15 feet tall (or taller).
I can just picture that
boy Brad, you have been every where, You lived in Springfield, cool what part!
Nice to know you better Brad.
Dee, I have been praying for those babies today! Hope all is well.
Brad is also the best friend to have when you want a website, a better blog, etc. He has been patience and understanding with this non-technophile and I appreciate it.
And he also took away my first place trophy for “lived most places.” Rats! Were your parents running moonshine? Part of the Weather Underground? In the ministry?
Brad, it seems that Greg is drawn to ladders! Seems like I remember a story about him and a ladder.
Great to hear more about you. Johnny Cash must have been singing about you when he recorded “I’ve Been Everywhere!” For some reason I thought you were “from” Arkansas. Are you not? I probably thought so because you have mentioned Harding College in Searcy. Guess I think all roads lead to Arkansas because I’m from there.
Very interesting, these interviews. I appreciate Dee for doing them.
Wal-Mart, military, and ministry explain the moves. No moonshiners, but grandpa referred to his tax-free money earned by making and selling picture frames as part of the hillbilly underground.
Hey from another neo-Virginian! (southwest, though) It was great to read about you, Brad! I especially loved your answer to what you would do if health, money, etc. were no concern — you would help out small churches! I think that’s great. When are you going to head down to Blacksburg?
We’ll be passing through the Blacksburg area in late June when we head to Harding University with our teens. Sorry, though. Only a wave this time. Maybe some other time, though.
Aw, I was just teasin’ anyway. I actually live in Christiansburg, so when you pass exits 114 & 118, that would be a good time to wave.
dude, Brazil was awesome.
Churrascaria!!!!
hey, come to jersey, Newark is Brazil North. You can get guarana (both main brands) and great meats just like in Brazil. it’s about $20 for all you can eat, straight from the swords!!
We’ll leave the light on for you.
I’m posting this before I even read the interview (just in case I learn a little too much about Brad!) but I wanted to say that Brad is one of the MAJOR reasons my family chose to become a part of the Arlington family when we moved to Virginia last summer. Lisa is one of the other major reasons. I knew during our very first conversation that this was a guy who was a kindred spirit in a great many ways and someone I wanted to get to know better. Now if I could just get him over his phobia of real hugs!
James @ TheoBloggers
Okay, I read it. Now I know too much.
1. The Oxford Guide to Library Research????? Really? Funny, I never thought of Brad as boring … until now.
2. I’d like to point out, for the record, MercyMe is neither Rock, Alternative or Punk. (By the way, shouldn’t they change the name of Alternative music, since it isn’t anymore?)
3. Mmmmm,Pie. Brad, if you ever go through Plain Dealing, Louisiana you have to stop at Giles Snack Shop and try there fried peach pie. Handmade fresh daily. Yum!
OK, enough picking on Brad. What I said before still goes. Brad is a great guy. Hyperactive, impulsive and a little silly but a really great guy to have a serious heart-to-heart talk with or just to cut up and act stupid with. (Chocolate fountain! Woo Hoo!!!!)
Lisa L., we’ll be spending the night in Christiansburg in a couple of weeks on our way to Pigeon Forge.
James @ TheoBloggers!
Wave to us as you pass between exits 118 & 114. In between the two exits, just before you pass under a bridge with a flag on it, look up to your left, and our house is up there. You won’t see it, but trust me it’s there. Okay, you won’t remember to do that, but it’d be funny anyway. Have a fun time in Pigeon Forge.
(You can email me if you think you’ll need anything while you’re in town, my address is on my blog)
James: I think the phrase we use is soul mates. I’m still not sure what that means, though.
1. As for the book, every bit of knowledge you could hope to find is available in a good library. Understanding the intricate methods required to squeeze every last bit out of it unlocks a world of information that Dewey and the card catalog just can’t provide.
2. I’d like to point out that the proper comparative phrase following the word “neither” is “nor”. I’m sure it was just a typo. What would it be, then, if not rock, punk, or alternative?
3. Louisiana?
one point for the Grammar Police (geeks)!!!!!!
woo-hoo!!
