The fruit of the Spirit word for this week is prayer from Colossians 4:2.  So we should devote ourselves to prayer this week.

I suggest that in thinking about that and doing it we focus of special people and special things in their lives we want to pray about.  And in our own life.

Sometimes it's easy for me to get caught in more insignificant things to pray about, if that's even possible.  But I think that this week I'm going to think of special people to pray for, maybe who I wouldn't "normally" think of first off.

You know - people who we deal with on a day to day basis who are maybe acquaintances but not close friends.  Working relationship people.  People around town we see.

Try it and see if it makes any difference.

In the meantime, I'm going to be praying for each of you this week as I am in the habit of doing.

Have a great day and I'll be praying for you.  If there is anything special any of you would like for any of us to pray for you about or something special in your life, leave a comment about it and we'll do it, okay?!  Dee

I have a habit of sometimes all but dismissing people who say they will be praying for this or that, or even me, because to be honest I’ve said that and then not followed through with the prayer! That said, there is just something very special in knowing that people such as yourself are praying for me. And for the record, I pray for you and Tom … but maybe not as often as I should. Good reminder, Dee.

    Janice -

I will pray for them - right now.

And Greg, I understand what you are saying because I am the same way many times and not as prayerful, maybe, as I should be. Or, at least, it doesn’t seem to be the way in which other people say they pray for others.

My prayer life is more of a running conversation with God all of the time every time I think of someone or something I need to pray for, which is a lot, of course, but not what you might consider to be a “formal” prayer. Mine are more all the time going on in my head. And heart.

    Dee,

I’m getting all of your emails returned. Do you have a new address?

I love the writers of prayer classics like Andrew Murray. Much to be gleaned from this devoted Christ follower.

Also love Jim Cymbala’s books. My wife and I visited his church, Brooklyn Tabernacle, in New York and what a powerful experience! This is a church that has literally been build through prayer.

    Peace.
