Talking With Dee

My kids like to talk with me.  Mark called me last night just to talk.

I like to talk with them, too, so we're even.  They are delightful people and we have a great time talking with one another and visiting, when we get the chance.

I really enjoy talking with my mom, too, and we laugh a lot together.  That's pretty cool.  I'm "fixin' to" go out to see her in Abilene next week for about 10 days, have I told y'all that?  We just worked it out for me to be able to go sandwiched in between a really busy schedule the next couple of months.  How on earth do we get so busy sometimes?

Anyway - did you realize I have not seen my mom in exactly a year?!  Good grief, that's been a long time.  I mean, I know we live a long way apart - 750 miles - but I try my best to get out there at least every six months or so, but what with building our house and all it was impossible to get make it out there.  Too much intervened.

No matter how old or young your parents and/or kids are, talk with them!  Spend time with them.  They are family and family is important.

I called my mom yesterday morning to tell her I was calling to wish her a good morning because we needed to get used to the sound of each other's voices in the morning since I'm coming out next week, you know?!  She laughed.  That's great.  I like to make her laugh.  I like to make my kids laugh, and they do.

That's all of import I have to say today.  Talk to your family.  Call them up or go see them and talk with them.  Make them laugh!

Cheers & Blessings to you each today!  And I'll be praying for you.  Dee

I always called my mom a couple of times a week … I miss our conversations. Hope the visit with your mom goes beyond all expectations!

I think talking to my Mom is the thing I miss the most about losing the rest of my hearing. I have not gotten to where I can talk on the phone with my cochlear implant yet (may never be able to) I keep in touch with her with instant messaging, emails and my family calls and talks to her but I miss being able to just pick up the phone and hear her voice. I hope you have a great visit with her next week.

And YES, it is still raining here. We have already passed our annual rainfall amount and it is only mid-July. I love seeing the yard be green in July- usually it is brown and we are on water restictions by now but I am so sick of the rain!

OK, we’ve got to get together while you’re in Abilene. You’re welcome to come up to Albany or we can meet you in Abilene. I’ll be at ACU Friday and Saturday of next week for Summer Workshops. Email me and let me know what your schedule might look like.
