I’m Sorry Y’all - I’m in a Slump
September 25th, 2007 at 4:20 pm by Dee O'Neil Andrews
Remember the old rock 'n roll song -
"Mama said there'll be days like this,
There'll be days like this my mama said . . . -
Well, those days are here for me and I'm in a real slump. Blogging slump and otherwise general slump. So I have to apologize to all of you dear readers who keep dropping by looking for something witty and/or brilliant and/or spiritually uplifting because my bounce has bounced.
I feel like I've run out of anything to say, much less something worthwhile enough for you to spend some of your time here listening to me. I mean, I'm okay in person and "up close and personal." It's just in the solitude part of me that I've run into trouble.
But, being a person of constant change and many different emotions, I expect to get the bounce back really soon so am working on that. In fact, we had family company with us all weekend to come see our new home and that went really well. We enjoyed their visit very much and look forward to having them back again.
Part of my problem may be the ongoing pesky plumbing problems we've had since moving into the house, but the sub-contractor plumber who did the construction work is coming in the morning to permanently fix the problem that never should have been there to begin with if the work had been done right while the house was being built. Now we have to dig up the concrete slab(!?!) to get to the pipes where they need to be replaced with different, correct pipes. Luckily, this is all out in the middle of the garage, so at least we don't have to tear the kitchen flooring out or something to get to it all.
I don't know how long it will take for the plumber to finish up the work, but I hope not too long. I hope he can do it all in one day, but I'm thinking maybe two. In the meantime, I'm sure we can't use the plumbing in the back part of the house, which includes our master bedroom and the laundry room. I just hope we can use the other bathroom on the "guest" side of the house. I'll let you know.
He'll be here at 8 a.m. in the morning so I'll come in here and drink my coffee and blog, how about that?! I also promise to get all of the "grandkids" pictures up here this week, too.
Love you guys. Sorry, again, I'm in such a slump and am such a grump.
Blessings to you all today. Dee
It’s Ok to be in a slump. Just don’t stay there. I watched The Holiday from Blockbuster this afternoon. If you never saw it go rent it. It’s a real chick flick.
I think you are marvelous!
HEY FRIEND YOUR NOT ALONE!!!!
huggs
Hey,
You could post that long lost interview!
Hey Friend,
If you can’t be in a slump
And also be a grump
Tossing words out from the dump
In front of us,
Then you can never again
Write the words to your kin
taking us for a verbal spin
Through the Wind Vane Chronicles!
A terrible poet,
john who loves dee
Hard to follow John’s “poem”! Hope you find your way out of the doldrums soon. Surely having the plumbing corrected will at least help. Otherwise, you owe an apology to no one for being in the dumps. We all get there at times. Just know you’re much loved out here!!!
We’ll keep the “Love Train” running from West Cocoa. I’ve been in somewhat of a blog slump as well. The cool thing about our blog church is you don’t have to post anything to know you’re “posted” in our hearts.
me, too
don’t worry about it. it will change.
I think hypnosis might help … or maybe a colonoscopy, which is the topic of Greg’s blog today.
As for the old rock and roll song … was that a 3 dog night song called “Momma told me not to come?”
Having nothing to say never stopped me! Hang in there, Dee. You started a lot of us off in this blogging world. You can’t stop now that the lemmings are following you!
Sorry to hear of your “slump”–I’m sure you’ll feel better soon! Also hope the plumbing problem is fixed pretty quickly–that can be a pain! I’ll be thinking of you! Much love in Him!–mmlace
Just remember, Dee. Slump is just pmuls spelled backwards!
Be still and know…listen for that still, small Voice in the inner silence.
P.S. Read Rubel Shelley’s thoughts for this week:
