Mornin’ - I’m Feeling Better
October 12th, 2007 at 10:01 am by Dee O'Neil Andrews
I saw one doctor yesterday who chose to pass on my major low blood pressure problem and told me to consult with two other of my doctors, so when I got home I immediately called both of them. With the first one, I had to leave a message with his nurse, who I told to call me as soon as possible. Haven't heard a word yet.
With the second one, I was able to talk with his nurse and told her of my unrelenting low BP problem. She took down a couple of my readings, consulted with him and called me back shortly with very pro-active news, for which I was very grateful.
He said to cut out four different medications I'm taking until we can get my blood pressure stabilized. I was very happy to hear that because I had already stopped taking two of the medications for over 24 hours before and my blood pressures were still way too low, causing me to go around feeling light headed all the time and about to faint.
Other problems may arise from this drastic cutback in some of my meds, but we'll work slowly on integrating everything until it all balances out again at a reasonable level. Meanwhile, I'm very appreciative of this young doctor who was on the ball and quick with advice on what to do. I'm glad I was able to speak to his nurse and to get word to him so quickly and efficiently.
So, I'm feeling some better this morning, although my blood pressure readings this morning are still somewhat low. I think I'm going to have to get all of the medications out of my system before I can really tell a difference.
Meanwhile, the weather has cooled down considerably and is very comfortable. It's bright and sunny by day, but not hot, and very pleasant and cool in the evenings. Tom and I sat out on the back porch for well over an hour last night listening to classical music and then some other neat music that was playing on XM radio on our TV and run through our speaker system.
Tom wired the back porch for speakers and put out a couple of small ones that we'd had in our bedroom in Slidell. They are good speakers and it was very pleasant sitting outside through the sunset into the twilight and darkness of night with just candles burning around to cast a dim glow.
Romantic, even.
Well, Dallas Cowboy fans . . . the clincher of the season is coming up Sunday when the Cowboys face the New England Patriots. Tom has invited a bunch of his fantasy football buddies over to watch the game and to eat grilled brats, so we're going to have a house full of football fanatics, I guess.
They all aren't Dallas Cowboy fans, though, so Tom may get a real ribbing if Dallas should lose, and some are predicting they will. They will if Tony Romo throws five interceptions! The game against Buffalo Monday night was a miracle game in the winning. Typical of Dallas in the old days, but not with so many turnovers - six to be exact - and they still won in the last two seconds.
I guess that's about it from here in South Mississippi this morning. Thanks for all of your prayers. I've felt them and appreciate them more than you know. They help tremendously.
Cheers & Blessings to you all today! Have a great weekend, y'all! Dee
What about doctor #2? Did he ever return your call?
I watched the Dallas / Bills game (well, I watched moments of it, and then tuned in for last drive) and it was certainly a miracle game! We had outdoor speakers in Long Beach and I loved to lay in the pool w/ good music playing, or sit out by a fire in the cool evenings with nice music.
So glad to hear you are feeling a little better. Hope you continue to improve. That game on Monday night was something else! The cowboys must have guardian angels or something! Especially, the kicker having to kick not one but two 50+ yard field goals to win. I was watching it on the set in the bedroom with the sound off (deaf people don’t need the sound) and I woke up hubby because I hollered when they called the time out, then I hollered again when he made the second one! Your porch sounds heavenly. Hope you have been over to my blog to read about our cruise.
Thanks goodness for Doctor #1. I can “hear” you’re feeling better through your voice or rather your blog.
Romo and his 5 interceptions and they still win - amazing. They say the sign of a good team is when it can win “ugly.”
Here is a “brats” question - Is it a social no-no to put mayo on a grilled brat?
Excuse me, Dee, but I’ll take this question from Cecil … the amount of mayo you put on things is socially offensive regardless of the food being ingested!
Okay, Dee, you may have your blog back.
Glad to hear you’re feeling better! I’m loving the cooler weather too! Have a great weekend! Much love!
Dee, excuse me as well:
Greg - I pray that I “mayo” find it in my heart to forgive you. Perhaps a mayonaise and banana sandwich will help me get over my hurt.
Cecil -
Mayo on a brat doesn’t sound good at all, but a mayo and banana sandwich REALLY crosses the line. Good grief, man. Talk about feeling sick - that’s sick!
As for Doctor #2 - I finally heard from his nurse about noon today and I gave her my info and what the other doctor decided yesterday and she said she would relay it on to the doctor, but that she would not be talking to him until either late this afternoon or Monday morning! So, that wouldn’t have been much, if any, help for me if I had not decided to have already taken things in my own hands and stopped two of the medications already, you know?!
Doctor #2’s nurse did move my next appointment up by a week and said for me to call her if I start having any problems off the four meds and she’ll move me up even more, so that was reassuring.
Meanwhile, my blood pressures are continuing to run on the low side, but higher enough that I’m not walking around about to pass out, thank goodness! I’m definitely feeling better.
Y’all have a great weekend. And Cecil - go out and buy some mustard for your brats, man!
Cheers! Dee
Glad to hear that U are feeling better Dee!
If ya don’t mind I will put my 2cent on about brats, you put Hellmann’s real mayonnalse on it, very good, ans as for the Banana sandwich, don’t forget to put the pickles on it too mmm good!!!
y’all have a great weekend ,
now I got to go make me a sandwich
Well, gee whiz, Dee! I had no idea! I am so sorry to hear about this. I’ll be praying for you and your doctors to get this thing nipped in the bud for sure!
Love you,
gb
Three things
1. glad you are feeling better.
2. There are football games going on? Thank goodness for two TV’s - I can only watch so much baseball.
and 3. My Tom loves mayo and banana sandwiches. Yuck!
Glad you’re better. Hope it keeps up. I hope the Cowboys can pull it off Sunday too. I think it will be a miracle if the do…
Blessings
