When There Are No Words

Sometimes in life there are no words.  The expressions of the heart must rise above words to flower in more subtle, yet meaningful ways.

This occurs when one is confronted with death.  What is there to say, really.  Death is the great unknown for all of us.  We are all going to die, yet none of us has ever experienced it and returned, except Jesus Christ, so we know not what to say in such times.

Sometimes silence occurs when confronted with other deep sorrow as in a divorce or estrangement of family or some calamity to a child.

At other times there are no words even to pray.  But God has promised us His Holy Spirit to speak for us in such times and to interceed on our behalves.  And we thank God for His understanding and compassion for us since He created us and knows us in all of our limitations.

I feel I have no words today, profound or otherwise, yet I've written several paragraphs already.  Maybe God has sent His Holy Spirit to guide my mind and my hands to work for His good.  I certainly pray that is the case because I want to share with you some of what I've learned in my life here on earth.

It feels like it is drawing to a close way too rapidly these days compared to what has gone before.  Looking back at my life from this vantage point is like thinking back on a dream that is wispy and shimmery as it vanishes into thin air.

I may not have eloquent words today, but I do have this . . . I have my heart and mind to care about those of you who stop by and to pray for each of you and to hope that you'll come back by to visit often with me.

I love you guys!  Cheers & Blessings to each of you today!  Dee

You have no idea how much your post today mirrored my actual day! I spent over two hours with a pastor who will be burying his 47-year-old wife on Monday. She was the worship leader at his church. We spent a long time just talking about the dilemma of his church praying for and believing with all their hearts that God would heal this wonderful woman. There are times words fail us.

Wow, imagine what it will be like when you “get words!” Love your writing (use of words). God be with and bless you.
