A is for . . .

I got the greatest idea from one of my blogging friends, Leah Stephens, whose blog is "Life With Pugs."  Leah and her husband (and two pugs) live in Denver, but Leah is from Texas and all her family lives there.

She decided to go through the alphabet posting things she is thankful for this Thanksgiving and holiday season.  I'm copying Leah because I think it's a great blogging idea, but I'm adding a twist.

After I post about what my alphabet letter and word is, I want y'all to do the same in comment.  Tell me what you're thankful for that begins with that letter.  Thus, today your word must begin with an A.

Here's my A word for today.  I'm thankful for apples.

They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away and I hope that's true because I love good apples.  I often eat lucious Gala apples with thick slices of Colby cheese.  That's been one of my meals most days the past few weeks because I'm trying to lose weight.

I'm succeeding, too.  I've lost 10 pounds and am working on losing more.  So, my advice to you is to try apples!

Let's see what your A words are now, okay?  (Just wait until X, Y & Z!!

Well, it ain’t apples! My wife loves them, I tolerate them. But knowing me as you do, you know it has to do with guitars or my grandson. I’ll go with Alvarez guitars. I have one of the high-end, handmade Alvarez guitars that’s about 30 years old and I’ve yet to hear one of any maker that sounds (or plays) any better.

I’ll be a copy cat and pick apples as well. They have become my mid-day snack of choice.

I’m late on joining in. Not very original, but it was already my answer before I read the others — I’m thankful for Alabama, the state where I grew up; not so much for the state itself, but for the upbringing I received there.
