C is for . . .
November 11th, 2007 at 12:56 pm by Dee O'Neil Andrews
I have several C words to be thankful for today. Here they are one at a time with explanations following.
Children.
I'm very thankful for my three children, David, Rebecca & Mark. They are blessings in so many ways I can't even count them. I'm also very thankful for my step-daughter, Kristine. She is like my own daughter in her love for me and respect and consideration.
All the kids are fine young Christian adults and I'm very grateful to them for that. They make me proud.
Chaplains.
Today is Veteran's Day and a Sunday and I'm thankful to all of the chaplains who have ministered to our soldiers over the many years of this country. They serve bravely and with magnificent courage. So do the chaplains for police departments, fire departments, hospitals, hospices and all other sorts of institutions.
Say a prayer today for all chaplains who serve in any way.
Cats.
Tom and I are cat people and we had three cats who we loved dearly. Oliver North, Gordon Shumway and Ross "Wolfie" Perot. I've talked about them before and have even run their pictures with me. They were very calming and soothing to the soul. So, I'm thankful for cats!
The Cross.
I'm most thankful for the cross because without it I would not have eternal life. God's love for us and Jesus' sacrifice are without measure. May we always be aware of the cross in our lives and how it all fits together.
Thank you God for all of my C words.
Share yours, now! Dee
Easy one — Christ. Christ as in “the Messiah,” the one who fulfills our deepest hopes in the most surprising ways.
At a place in my life where I am single, living over 100 miles away from my family, I’m thankful for my Christian friends. They are my family! So thank you, God for other Christians with which to share this journey.
Hey Dee!
I am so glad you like the idea! I am really striving to be a more thankful and joyful person. I really like your twist on asking for others’ comments, so I think I will copy that (giving credit to you, of course!). Hope you are having a blessed day!

C…carseats. A carseat saved my son’s life. Something told me to switch carseats that weekend and put the heavier carseat in my car, instead of the booster seat. I did. It saved my son’s life. So, I am thankful for carseats.
I can agree with the Cross, Children, and Chaplains (I was a police chaplain for six years). Can’t agree with cats. Of course Christ would be #1 … Christian friends are a huge blessing in my life. And all of us bloggers love comments!!!
Since my first choice has been cited, I’ll add Chili … on a cold night.
Dee,
I am so thankful for the Cross.
I am so thankful secondly, for my 3 sons: Ethan, Collin and Quinn. Yes all Irish names. Children are such a wonderful blessing from God. I cherish them every day. I thank God for every morning when I awake in prayer, when they are at school and day care I pray for their safety, when they are at friends houses I pray that that they will make the right discissions. Children are alwasy so sweet and kind. My youngest will just come up jump in my lap and say, “I luv you dada.” My middle son always wants to say the prayer and sings “God our father that he learned at day care. My oldest son is always wanting me to play Transformers and gameboy with him. I am also his Den Leader and Baseball Coach. Children. No wonder Jesus said, become like these. The kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
Dee-Excellent post sister. Excellent post! Keep it up.
D is for D a wonderful womon who inspires us all to be more faith in our relationship with God through her blogs. God bless.
Dee, I’m here!!!
My C word is chairs.
Because how uncomfortable would life be without a chair to sit in?
C is for.. Crumbs — well everybody else has taken the good C words that came first tomy mind — especially Christ, Christians and children –I guess I could have used Chris (my oldest) but I wouldn’t want to single him out from Kevin & Melissa — I’m thankful for each of them- they are unique but equally precious.
But getting back to crumbs — have you ever thought what the world would be like without crumbs — how great it is to get those last crumbs of cake or cookies or brownies in the pan orthe piecesof turkey left on the plate — so yes I’m thankful for Crumbs -the the opportunity to “Clean up”
God Bless
Charlie

I will have to say my children: Emily and Ethan. Like others I would have to include Christ and Christians, but cookies and cake also come to mind!
