Good to be Home

It's good to be home. We had a great trip and saw lots of family and did lots of fun things, but it's good to be home again.
The trip home was uneventful. Especially for me, who slept about 95% of the time coming home. I can't stay awake in a car any more on a long trip, and fortunately, Tom likes to drive. Or at least prefers to drive over just riding in the car.
We ate lots of great food at Mom's and lots of good Mexican food while we were gone. Texas sure has some good Mexican food. Around here you can't beat the great seafood, but Mexican food is impossible to come by. Out in Texas it's just the opposite.
One fun thing we did on Thursday night was to go to the dress rehearsal for Hardin-Simmons University's "Peter & the Wolf" in Abilene. Our niece, Kathryn, plays violin in the orchestra so she invited us to come hear and see them since we were leaving Friday before the weekend of shows started. That was enjoyable.
Afterwards, Tom and I and my sister Laura went to Abuelo's and ate Mexican food. Laura's husband was out of town, so the three of us enjoyed a good meal and got margarita pie to take home to Mom (she didn't want to get out with us).
Friday night we spent the night in McKinney at my daughter Rebecca's house. Garth and Rebecca (along with Keegan) took us out to eat downtown McKinney on the square at an old English pub and that was good, too. We walked around the square afterwards taking in all of the Christmas decorations.
The weather stayed really warm the whole time we were gone, being in the 70s. That changed the day after we left and since in Abilene it's been down in the low 30s with snow forecast. I don't know if it's snowed or not because I haven't talked to my mom since Saturday night not long after we got home.
I guess that's about it. Tomorrow I'll get back to my thankful alphabet taking up where I left off with the next letter, "U". So, be thinking about "U" words you're thankful for.
Cheers & Blessings to you all today! Dee

Welcome back!
It was a good feeling just knowing you were in Texas. And actually only about 2 and a half hours away.
Glad you made it back safe!
