V is for . . .
December 13th, 2007 at 12:03 pm by Dee O'Neil Andrews
I forgot my alphabet momentarily and started to write up my "W" word(s), only to remember that I was about to totally skip poor "V"! I'll have to say, though, that Greg England totally outdid himself in commenting with his "U" words on yesterday's post. I'm fully convinced he sat down with a dictionary open to U and had a hey day coming up with ubiquitous U words to throw out at us all. Go back and read his comment to see what I'm talking about. It just takes a minute and is worth your time.
(Actually, I'm going to have to sit down with my dictionary turned to U to find out what all Greg really said!)
Anyway . . . "V" is an easy one for me because I have two granddaughters with V names. Veronica and Victoria.
Veronica lives in Grand Prairie, Texas and we just got to see her last week on our trip out there and on over to Abilene. She is 12 and plays cello in the orchestra, sings in a choir and takes piano lessons still (I think).
Victoria is 6 and lives in Winchester, Virginia with her family (my son David and his family), which is a long way away, so I don't get to see her very much. Sometimes families are too spread out, in my humble opinion!
Actually, Mark and his family live here in Picayune and we sometimes don't get to see even them very often.
I guess I should give you one more non-grandchild "V" word, hunh?! How about "Victory?" I can think of several things that can apply to for which I'm thankful.
How about you today? Have any "V" words I can't think of? Probably, because I'm stretching today, myself, and had a hard time even coming up with victory. Yesterday, y'all really out shone me with your "U" words, Greg notwithstanding. I mean "umbrella" was great and it didn't even dawn on me. My daughter-in-law, Lynn, graciously offered that one.
Okay . . . the comments are open for "V" words and/or discussion! Dee
“Victory”
I’ll go easy on you … Vacation!
Voice….I’d be lost without mine.
How about:
“Vacation” which I wish my “vocation” was thereof but alas, I’m feeling a bit “vanquished” in that department.
I got one but hope it don’t get me kicked off here
what about what a Southern Belle would say “I do Declare I got a case of the “Vapors”
I get bored easily so I am thankful God filled my life with variety.
Peace
Neva
My word would be velvet. I love the feel and look of it and especially if it is in black!
Have a great day!
veins- even though I don’t enjoy seeing them I am grateful they carry blood throughout my body.
velcro- makes baby shoes easier
Vulcan- our beautiful Iron Man statue in B’ham (she says tongue in cheek)
Vowels -Whr wld w b wtht thm. Wll mb w cld fgr t t bt t sr slws y dwn.
(I think I’m OK with the y(ou) because in that case it acts as a consonant!!)
God Bless
