X is for . . .
December 17th, 2007 at 11:14 am by Dee O'Neil Andrews
Boy, this one is hard. I broke down and went to the dictionary for this letter, but that didn't help a bit. There is only one page of x words and all of them are rather scientific in nature and not suitable to be thankful for except maybe by some mad scientist.
The only word I could think of to be thankful for was "X-RAY," which is a good one. Without x-rays, the medical profession would have a difficult time diagnosing a lot of things like broken bones and pneumonia. I broke my foot about two years ago and had no idea until we x-rayed it.
(Remember the going to the Christmas party on the scooter post, "Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers?" That's worth some hearty holiday laughs if you have a minute. I wrote it exactly two years ago today.) I had lots more x-rays of it over the long months that followed until my foot healed.
Then there's one more word for which I'm thankful that is seasonal.
Merry Xmas, everyone!
Share some thankful words with us today and they don't even have to be "X" words, okay?! Tell you what - read my "Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers" post and comment on that. That will cheer both you and me up. It's really funny, I'm telling ya. Some good laughs at my expense.
Cheers! & Blessings to you all today! COMMENT!! Dee
History Time:
How about the “X-planes” (that were really jets) numbers X-1 through the X-15. A shout out must go out to Chuck Yeager who was the first man to break the sound (remember the movie “The Right Stuff”) barrier.

Well we can all be thankful that the scooter is packed away this Christmas….especially in the newly painted house!
X is a great letter for marking off things you’ve finally accomplished for the day!
x-job
x-boss
x-coworkers…
yep, all things in the past is x-citing!
I am with Donna–all the x’s whether they live in Texas or not are good x’s to have if you have to have x’s.
Peace
Neva
I am also grateful that God gives me x-actly what I need for every circumstance and in every occasion,

Imagine the world without X … there could be no algebra as there would be nothing to solve! Had someone back then only foreseen the favor to mankind in general by deleting X while there was still time to save us from higher math.
I was going to say that x is for the xylophone solo in “Moonlight Feels Right” by Starbuck (who later went out of the music business and opened Starbucks). But, alas, it wasn’t a xylophone. It was a marimba. Can we go back to M?
X-cellent!
Ben
How would you play X’s and O’s without X’s? — It is a tough one all right — but how would we tell you you are eXtra special if there were no X — Thank you Dee for the eXcellent series of blogs.
God Bless
