Dead Week in Blog Land
December 27th, 2007 at 11:53 am by Dee O'Neil Andrews
This seems to be dead week in blog land, don't you think? Hardly anyone is writing, I've found. I seem to be about the only one going around reading blogs, and I haven't even been able to do a whole lot of that, yet. I have yet to comment anywhere this week, either, I don't think.
Sorry about that, friends.
I've had so many of you stop by to wish us a merry and blessed Christmas and Tom and I really appreciate those thoughts. We had a very low key Christmas, but that is the norm for us any more. Our only kids close by, my son Mark and his wife Lynn and the three girls, spent Christmas day with her family here in Picayune, so I got together with them yesterday while Tom was having to work.
Tom is out of town for a couple of days now, so I'll try to get around to see you all today and to comment and wish you a personal best for the holidays. Y'all are a constant inspiration to me, both you fellow bloggers and all you readers. I'm serious.
In my fights against depression, blogging and hearing from readers is often what keeps me going.
On another note, I rarely, if ever, talk about political things here, but the events of this morning in Pakistan are very disturbing to me with the assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and the rise of Islamic extremism. Pakistan has active nuclear weapons, which could prove deadly to the rest of the world if they should fall into the wrong hands, meaning Islamic extremists.
Please join me in prayer over these things and as we look to nominating and voting in a new president in this country. We need a man strong in foreign policy and one who will not hesitate in making critical decisions to protect us all from Islamic terrorists.
That's my two cents worth today.
My hopes and prayers for you all today is that you will have a very blessed one whether writing blogs, reading blogs, working, visiting with family and friends or whatever your circumstances.
Dee
We’ve been out of touch from the news the past few days which is sometimes a good thing. You’re right about Islamic Extremists being a threat as they would love nothing better than to destroy the “West.”
Hard to transition to this thought but I’ll do it just the same, may you and Tom have a Happy New Year.
What we need are statesmen who put the security of our nation first. What we have are politicians who put their political position and power first. I fear for the future in which our grandchildren will face.
As for New Year’s Eve … our daughter will be in NYC and I told her to call me when it’s New Year’s there (9:00pm here) and then I’ll go to bed and call it a celebration.
hi Dee, I am home !
hope ya had a good Christmas!
Hope ya have a Great new YEAR!
I put up a new post, thought it was funnie
Glad to see that your blogging again!
I know what you mean about dead week. I’ve gotten behind in reading so I’ve been catching up on the ones I hadn’t read. It is cold here in Tucson. It is 5:00pm and it is 45 degrees outside. Our son, Tom Jr gave Tom a thermometer that shows inside and outside temperatures. We only have a few plants and we covered them a couple of nights when it got below 32, but now I’m getting lazy. It is supposed to be 27 tonight. I don’t want to go outside. I think we’ll have chili for dinner.
Hi Dee, thanks for the nice comments on my blog.
Yes, it’s been a pretty boring blog week!
Have a Great ‘08!
Great photo, Dee. Thank you for remembering us. Duncan and I will keep praying for Pakistan, praying for good leaders in our own country, and keeping our powder dry. WATCH and pray, the Lord said, and we intend to do both.
God bless you and thank you Marine for us again when you next speak to him.
I’ve blogged a bit but not a whole lot. Christmas was a bit rough and I’m fighting my own battle with depression at the moment.
OTOH, if you want a good laugh, go to my son’s blog (http://mattchron.blogspot.com).
OMStars! I’ve finally sat down to read and write on my little blog and it’s a “dead week.” Now over in my little corner of the blog world - I’m trying to space out all my good stuff!
I’m having a wonderful time reading everybody else and planning what to write next…..
Yeah, it’s been kinda dead…I haven’t been around much either, though. I haven’t been over here in awhile…I never did finish your Thanksgiving alphabet! Maybe I should finish…
Anyway, I just wanted to say I hope you had a great Christmas and hope you have a wonderful New Year! Much love!
Seasns Blessings Dee!!
