May the God of All Comfort Be With Them . . .

This post is for John and Margaret Dobbs in the very sad death of their only son, John Robert. (See stories here.) John Robert would have been graduating from Pascagoula High School tonight, but instead his parents are at his funeral as I write. He was 17.
Some say that God has a "plan" in all of these things, or that it is "God's will" in some way. I do not believe that, for our Father wants only good things for all of us, His children. I strongly believe that there is death in this world because of the Evil one, who would try to shake us loose from the love of our Father.
But, satan will not win. We, as Christians, already have the victory in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. One of these days, at the great resurrection of the dead, when the trumpet shall call, Jesus Christ shall return in His glory to raise the dead from their graves to be with Him in the air. Then all of us who remain living shall join them with great joy - seeing our beloved ones who have gone before and rejoicing with them before the throne of God.
Dearest John & Margaret,
May the God of all comfort be with you and your entire family in this great loss of your beloved son. We, who are your friends and sisters and brothers in Christ Jesus, mourn with you, but also share that great hope of the redeemed. We shall stand firm with you as you traverse the difficult days ahead.
Much love to all of you who drop by here today! Dee
What a beautiful tribute. Thank you, Dee!
I agree with you. Beautiful words from a friend to a friend.
Too sad for words. Dee, you did a good job.
I have a slightly different take on death. Although I agree that it is God’s will that no one should physically die, God’s ultimate concern is our spiritual life or spiritual death. People tend to forget that death is both physical and spiritual as a result of man’s sin. Physical death would not be so if man had submitted to God’s will and eaten from the tree of life, so we see that death is a result of man rejecting God’s will. God loved man in spite of his sin and removed the tree of life, otherwise man would live forever spiritual dead to God, so we see that God allowed physical death so that man might have an opportunity to be born again to spiritual life in God. Jesus demonstrated that He has the power over death and that it is through Him that you will truly have life (both physical and spiritual) everlasting. This life is so ephemeral because of sin, but the life Christ gives is holy and everlasting.
that was nice of you!
take care

thank you from my heart Dee. The Enemy hates us. God allowed him to to destroy my son but not my faith. Hope remains.
Thank you, Dee. We love the Dobbs and grieve with them at the loss of their wonderful son. May God comfort them and give them hope and peace.
My prayers have been with this family. I can’t begin to imagine their grief and pain…….but I know God’s love is surrounding them. To the Dobbs family: May God bless you with the peace and comfort that only He can give.
Dee: thank you for such a touching tribute to them.
