Both Tom and my son Mark decided late last night that I should absolutely evacuate in the face of this monster hurricane coming tomorrow.
At the moment, it is in the lower gulf, but actually doesn’t look that bad. The left (west) side of it is shearing off due to dry air sweeping down from the north. The eye is raggedy looking, as well, even though it is Category 3 with steady winds of 120 mph. Pray that God causes it to continue to deteriorate.
I will post next as soon as I can. I do not know when I will next have computer access. Tom will be here at the house until in the morning and then at the office through the storm. He has to go in about noon, though, to board up all their windows.
Mark and his family will either be in their home or if the hurricane turns east, will go stay in the First Baptist Church in town.
Wish me Godspeed as I travel the extremely busy highways to Jackson.
Cheers & Blessings to you all today!
Dee

Dee, I’m releaved to hear about you and your evacuation. I’d been praying for you and checking your blog. I’ll continue praying for you specifically.
Bobbie
I am agreeing with you Dee that God would cause the hurricane to continue to deteriorate.

God’s Grace.
I’m mindful of you, your family, the good folks of the Carrollton Ave. Church, and everyone in the Gulf area. You are so much in our prayers.

Dee, I’m glad you’re getting out of there. Give us an update as soon as you can.
Dee,
A few things.
First, Please be safe. Your brothers and sisters around the country are praying for you. Even the ones you have never met.
Second, congratulations on the writing contest. from what I have seen on this blog, I am certain it was well deserved without even seeing the competition.
Third, I wasn’t able to comment, but I printed your posts about your becoming a lawyer to take with me on my recent trip to Chicago. Fantastic, inspirational stuff. As you know from reading my blog, my participation in the blogging universe is sporadic, but I am very thankful I bumped into you and your blog along the way.
May the God of peace be with you, especially in the storms.
Watching and praying!
