Top 10 Predictions No Matter Who Wins the Election

[Note:  Tom is on his way to the doctor in a little while because the tendonitis in his right hip is killing him, again.  This will be his third visit in two weeks for the debilitating pain.  Please remember him in your prayers.  Dee]

Tom and I are becoming more and more pessimistic about the election, the economy, the direction this country has been headed for a long time now, and the direction this country seems to be headed.  We fear the country is on a slippery slope to socialism and poverty for most who live here.

But, then we stop and think about the true and good things in our lives as Christians.  Good friends of ours sent the following to us the other day and I found it most encouraging and inspiring.  These are the things we must focus our minds and our hearts on.  What do you think about all of this?

 TOP TEN PREDICTIONS FOR 2008

1. The Bible will still have all the answers.

2. Prayer will still work.

3. The Holy Spirit will still move.

4. God will still inhabit the praises of His people.

7. God will still pour out blessings upon His people.

8. There will still be room at the Cross.

ISN’T IT GREAT TO KNOW WHO IS STILL IN CONTROL?

All of those items are true, however we still may be headed for disaster as a nation. I have all but no hope for the future of this nation … regardless of who wins this current election. Politicians of both parties have become so power hungry, the good of the nation is not even a secondary consideration any longer. It’s much further down the list.

I agree with Greg. There is comfort in knowing that our joy doesn’t have to be controlled by Wall Street or Washington D.C.. However, we will still experience pain if our country doesn’t turn itself around.

Still, I love the song, “Blessed Be Your Name.”

    Every blessing You pour out
    I’ll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
    Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
    Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
    Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be the name of the Lord
    Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
    Blessed be Your glorious name

    You give and take away
    You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
    Lord, blessed be Your name

I guess another way to say it Dee is that the buck no longer stops at a desk in the White House.. and maybe it never has?

Praise God our hope is built on more than the continued prosperity of this country….I too fear the direction we are headed will continue to take us further away from the nation we once were….

    Praying for Tom.

    Joshua 24:15

That’s the only election worth getting uptight about, making your decision between Joshua’s candidate and all of the others.

    Have a great day!

    Grace and peace,
    Tim

That list sent to you by your friends is always a great reminder about Who is really in control. I share the fears you and the others have mentioned. I’m reminded of the comings and goings of the children of Israel…………
