Wow! What a scene. And not one seen around here very often.
It’s been snowing all morning. The last snow we had was on Christmas Day 2004. That day it stuck and made everything white. Today it is just falling beautifully and melting as it hits the ground.
New Orleans and everywhere around it (except here, it appears) are getting so much snow they’ve had to close some icy bridges. It has accumulated up to six inches in some areas just west of here. Amazing.
This is the earliest snowfall on record in New Orleans according to the weather bureau, and they’ve been keeping records for a long time. Because the area rarely experiences snow, no one is prepared for it road wise and often the first thing that happens is that the schools close. I don’t think they will here, today, but maybe everywhere around us.
Life can bring such delightful surprises at times.
But, of course, I only speak as someone who doesn’t see much snow at all and who doesn’t have to endure those frozen winters farther to the north. That I could not handle. At all.
Well, that’s it. Just wanted to give you that weather update. I would write more, but I think I have to go out and play in the snow.
Cheers! & Blessings to you all today! Dee

That’s the kind of snowfall I like. It falls in beautiful flakes … sticks to the trees … but melts when it hits the ground. No slush. No icy roads (except for those bridges).
Enjoy….maybe we will have some by tomorrow.
was wonding if ya was getting any snow!
I like the snow better then the ice,
take care
I’m glad you’re feeling better! We might get some snow and/or sleet tomorrow night.
