The snow last week was short lived, but we’re still in the Christmas spirit. Just tired out, is all. Somehow, Tom & I both have run out of steam and plan on just coasting through the rest of this month til year’s end. I hope that’s the case, anyway, because I’ve needed my afternoon naps the past couple of days and hope to have time for more.
For today, here’s a picture of our three little Christmas trees in the corner of our living room. We’ve been keeping them lit more hours than not and they’ve offered a wonderful glow to the house in the evenings.
Although it’s about 70 degrees out today, I think I’m going to make some homemade Broccoli-Cheese Soup for dinner. Tom and I both love good soup. For Christmas dinner we’re planning on having a small ham, some sweet potatoes, green peas and rolls. Tom wants Peach Cobbler for dessert, so I’m going to make that for him.
What are YOU going to have for Christmas this year? And who all will be together and where? Comment and share with us.
Cheers & Blessings to you all today! Dee

How Pretty!
That would assume that I have planned that far ahead…
Cute trees.
I will be in Bossier City, LA with Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister-in-law, nephew, 3 great nephews, 2 Sisters, 5 foster kids. We will have fried turkey and whatever else Dad is in the mood to cook. My sister-in-law (a pastry chef by profession) will bring something for dessert.
Haven’t really planned that far ahead as far as the meal is concerned. The past three years, we’ve had our family Christmas on Christmas Eve and our son would spend Christmas day with his fiance / wife and her family. This year, our daughter will be home, as usual, and we plan to go see either “Australia” or “Yes Man” (leaning more toward “Yes Man”) and then come home to dinner … something Jessica will choose. I will have some ambrosia and probably a coconut cake (which I will end up eating myself because no one else in the family likes coconut cake). Basically a quiet, low impact Christmas day, but I can’t wait to have Jess home with us.
Wonderful trees — I love having more than one like that.
I’ll be in my old Kentucky home for Christmas.
I saw the pictures of the snow in the “Big Easy.” Because of ours and Steven’s connection with the Carrollton Church, we were more than interested in seeing snow falling on top of the Street Cars.
that plum purty !
it’s 18 here
and soup sounds very gooood about now !
what your having and some of that coconut cake of Greg’s sounds good to me!
At home. The best place to be.
May God shine on you & Tom Dee. Enjoy those naps!
We are not having “the meal” at our house this year. We are planning a small ham, green bean casserole, candied yams and maybe a pie of some kind, since I’ve learned to make a pie crust! But Christmas day, we already know we’ll be at a sister’s house and then at a daughter’s house. I like this going to others’ homes thing.
Barney still being pretty young and rambunctious, we elected not to put up a Christmas tree “Christmas tree,” per se. If he climbs to the top of the drapes, we could only imagine what he’d do to the tree. We have a small green, metallic tree with a light in the middle, and it looks festive enough. And the day after Christmas, all we have to do is unplug it and put it back in the closet!!!
Merry Christmas to you and Tom.
Hi Dee,
Just wanted to wish you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
