Finding Direction: The Wind Vane Chronicles

Have a Happy Day w/Tennessee Ernie Ford & Young Son Brian, Y’all!!

July 29th, 2009 · 4 Comments · Humor, Photos, Videos

I want to share with you today the video below which encompasses the best of our lives as Christian families in this world.

It includes not only an old African-American  spiritual song, “Children, Go Where I Send Thee,” (take a moment to read the link, which gives the history & various forms of the lyrics)  by the incomparable Tennessee Ernie Ford on televsion back in the 1950s or early 60s, but also shows the exuberance of his young son, Brian (sitting to his right), toward his dad’s singing and Ford’s love for his little boy and the other children gathered around him for the Christmas show.

Enjoy!!  Dee

I absolutely loved that clip Dee. His son was hilarious! I always loved his “Sixteen Tons” too.

    Thanks for posting that jewel!

Dee, that was absolutely adorable. That little fellow is so cute with all the rhythm and moves. Thanks for posting this. I remember when “Sixteen Tons” was popular.

Now that little boy was not only hilarious but extremely proud of his dad, don’t you think? And his dad’s reaction about 3/4 of the way through made me laugh out loud. Thanks, Dee!
