For I Am Convinced
December 8th, 2009 at 6:21 pm by Dee O'Neil Andrews
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
The New International Version
You guys are so patient, I’m tellin’ ya. Waiting for my next installment of the “Arkansas Memories Tour of 2009 – Day 2: Gassville (GASS-vul) & Cotter” to be posted.
But, due to circumstances WAY beyond my control (as if I ever had any in this complicated world of ours to begin with), I have been unable to write one as yet. And, due to the total incompetence of the phlebotomists who last drew my blood for several different blood tests my endocrinologist needed today (but as it turned out, not enough blood) when I went for my three month check up, I have to drive 20 miles south on the interstate from here tomorrow to see her once again. After having more blood drawn today in her office.
I said a bad word when I found out my trip to her office today was wasted.
The good news is that God is working mightily in my life and in the lives of those dearest to me for His good. I am thrilled beyond measure.
No matter how hard satan tries to bring us down, if we turn to God and Jesus Christ in prayer, seeking His will in all things, He will hold us close and give us the victory in all things, in His name.
Thanks be to God for His love for us beyond our comprehension or understanding.
Be back as soon as possible with more Arkansas trip adventures . . . and there are many more to come, believe me.
Here’s a peek at what comes next and a question for each of you. What do you think this building below in Gassville, Arkansas was when the Andrews boys were little kids growing up there and what significance do you think it would have had in their lives – all three of them – with identical problems?
Think about it and give me your best answer below in comment, okay?! That’s your task for today.
Love ya! Dee

Could it have housed the Post Office back then? My guess is somewhat influenced by the flags flying next to the building.
School, pool hall, church, jail??
The verse you posted is one of my favorite scriptures.
I’m sorry you had so many problems with the phlebotomists. It seems there is a lot of incompetence in the medical field these days. I will be praying you get good results on your tests.
I’m guessing a school. I know it doesn’t look like a school; still…that’s my guess. Perhaps they all had the same teacher who failed in one area or another (all three with identical problems). That’s my guess and I’m sticking to it!
Hope your second round of blood work works better for you.
I would have guessed the Post Office because of the flags … or the local VFW? However, the little awning over the side door makes it look like any one of who knows how many churches I’ve seen in the deep south. Plus the room addition on the back (with the window air conditioner) could be living quarters on the back, which means it could be where the preacher and his family with 8 kids live in a two room apartment!
But this building looks much better than most of those churches I’ve seen in the south, so I’ll stick with post office or VFW.
Newspaper building?
A furniture store or a grocery store.
In an ongoing attempt to win any blog contest you throw our way, even if I have to resort to cheating, I used a magnifying glass to see if I could read what is on the building. No avail, so I’m back to honest luck.
I was going to say “school” but I’ll go with a Masonic Lodge.
Hope you’re feeling better.
The building had 3 entrances in front with one being maybe a main one with a sign hanging down over it. My husband’s guess is maybe a Western Auto or some kind of hardware store.
)
With so many front doors I can’t keep from wondering if there were at least 3 different businesses there. Am anxious to learn the answer to your mystery!
I’m sorry that your bloodwork and doctor visits are so frustrating, but I encourage you in all situations to never forget the promise found in Jeremiah 29:11.
“For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord,’plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Just remember that God is sovereign throughout all of your circumstances and he has a master plan for all of the craziness that you are enduring.
And I would have to guess that the building was a doctor’s office, maybe all three of the boys had hearing troubles
And the answer is . . . .????
