Brand New “Finding Direction Summer 2010 Photo Contest” – Y’all Enter!!

June 28th, 2010 · 10 Comments · Blogging, Finding Direction Contests, Humor, Inspirational, Photos, Videos, Uncategorized

I haven’t done one of these in over a year, but inspiration has struck me (thanks to Greg over at “why, soitenly,” although I still have him booked as the “Ex-Rev’s Ramblings”) and I’m now on a roll.

For those of you who may be new, the quickest way to get up to speed is to check out my Categories on my right side bar and go down to the entry, “Finding Direction Contests,” where you will find all of the “rules” (slack though they may be) and entries of each of the categories, which are determined by moi at some point along the line.

I held five Finding Direction Photo Contests, in the Winter of 2005-06, Summer 2006, Winter 2006-07, Summer 2007, and Winter 2007-08.  So, y’all have had lots of time to collect photographs to enter.

I don’t have the time right now as today is Monday – Laundry Day – but when I do have a bit of extra time, I’ll put the links here to the winners blog posts from the five contests, along with the “rules,” – don’t worry if you don’t know any of them, it doesn’t matter.  Doesn’t even have to be your own work!

Okay – here’s two from Summer 2006 and Winter 2006-07.  I went back through all the winners’ blog posts and found that the photos  were all missing, so I’m going to have to check with TheoBloggers to see if their expert/genious status can pull them up for you all to see.  But, do go back and read some of the entries under that category – Finding Direction Contests, because then you’ll see how much FUN we all have “competing” in these.

Love you all!  Sorry I’ve been so long in posting.  We were out of town most of last week gone to a Tri-State Press Association convention in Tunica, Mississippi, just south of Memphis.  It was for Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee, and we had a great time.   I’ll post a photo later.

Cheers!  And many blessings to each of you today!  Dee

Is there a theme? I looked at the previous contests and found there to be numerous awards for numerous things. I guess I’m a bit confused as to what type of pics you are looking for.

    But, I’m in!

  • jel

got mine pickout to send! ;)

  • Dee Andrews

Heather – No need to feel confused. That’s MY natural state! ha!

Let’s just say this contest’s theme is “Summertime, and the Livin’ is Easy.”

In other words . . . use your creativity in picking out photos to email to me. What and who is “livin’ easy” this summer or what you think makes for easy livin’ in the summer. You’re an excellent photographer already, so shouldn’t have too hard a time deciding which of yours you think might be contest winners or winner. (You can enter more than one – as many as you want, but within reason, to be fair.)

Y’all get busy shootin’ and picking out your winners. Or start looking for photos that go with the now stated theme.

    Have fun! Dee

Man, I wish I’d thought of a photo contest!! :) If I can find it, I have the definitive summer photo and a sure first place prize … assuming, of course, that rascally (imagine that spoken by Elmer Fudd) preacher from Rochester Hills doesn’t throw me a curve at the last minute!!

  • Janice Garrison

Hmmm…this sounds very interesting. Can it be a “what” that is living easy as opposed to a “who”? :D

  • Patrick Mead

Greg! I am so offended. Yes, I took the time to fly into Biloxi so I could see Dee even if only for a few moments. Yes, I have picked out several special gifts for you in case I win. And, yes, you — Greg — are a bad person probably in Wit-Sec who shouldn’t be posting, much less encouraged.

But other than that… what’s to worry about?

  • Patrick Mead

Uh… thought for the day… never post while trying to balance a grandson. I meant to say the gifts were for DEE.

  • Greg England

Patrick, my friend … you gave me a good laugh at the end of a stressful day! Bring it on!!

  • Dee Andrews

Yes, Janice – (And all) – it can be a “what” that is living easy rather than a “who.”

    I’m easy – what can I say?!

Haven’t gotten any email photos yet. Y’all get busy.

To get my email address, if you don’t have it, just go to the “Contact Me” tab at the top of the page and I’ll send it to you, okay. No excuses, now!

    Later.

    Dee

    Dee,

I’ll be sending a picture. And, I am adding you to my list of great bloggers too. Not sure how I lost touch with you but glad you grabbed my attention again.
